  • Overview

    Responsible for the processing of Concur expense reports and related user support and reporting, accounts payable processing, purchase order creation and making electronic check deposits through our cloud-based accounting, general ledger and bank deposit software. This position will also perform clerical and support work required to maintain NEIEP’s general ledger. This includes report typing, report filing, handling phone inquiries, checking and answering email, and basic book keeping and filing.


    • Enter invoices into NetSuite and creates purchase orders based on quotes received.
    • Review all Concur expense reports before being sent to the general ledger. Will also act as the support contact for Concur and create necessary reporting.
    • Follow up on outstanding checks and work with the bank to place stop payment on lost checks. Prepares and make deposits.
    • Maintain and balance office petty cash account. Process reimbursements, assist field employees with issues, verifies petty cash with custodian of record for local committees, ensure attachment of receipts and signatures, and perform annual audit of accounts.
    • Assist Accounting Manager with requests and verify receipt of required funding-related paperwork each semester. Work with field employees and union staff to obtain necessary paperwork and resolve discrepancies.
    • Review lease and rental agreements for terms, prepares lease affidavits and obtains appropriate signatures. Requests and review W-9 forms from property owners as necessary, and request return of security deposits upon expiration or termination of agreements.
    • Assist with 1099-MISC processing
    • Assist members of the accounting department with various projects as requested.


    • BS in Accounting with 3 years of experience or AS in Accounting with 5 years of experience or equivalent experience required.   
    • Ability to give appropriate attention to detail to prepare accurate reports is required.
    • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and proven interpersonal skills are required.
    • A professional demeanor, flexibility to adapt to changes in the work environment, and demonstrated ethical behavior is required.
    • Proficient computer skills, including cloud-based accounting software such as NetSuite and expense reporting software such as Concur, email, word processing, and Excel spreadsheets, and databases, are required.
